Come to Whinlatter to celebrate Christmas in the mountains. Buy your real Christmas tree and get away from the crowds of the high street. Enjoy seasonal food in Siskins Cafe and browse for beautiful gifts in the forest shop
Your real Christmas tree uses 10 times fewer materials and five times less energy than artificial trees. We only sell trees that are grown in the UK and in a well-managed way, with more trees are planted every year than are harvested.

Can you find all of Santa's reindeer hidden in the forest? Pick up a map from the forest shop (small charge applies)
Make Christmas decorations from felt. Drop in workshop from 10-4pm in the Visitor
Centre.
Celebrate International Mountain Day in England's only mountain forest. There'll be lantern making throughout the day in the Visitor Centre. Make your own lantern and then join Storytree for a Lantern Walk at dusk. You'll explore the forest by lantern light and listen to magical stories along the way! Allow up to an hour to make your lantern. It also needs around an hour to dry, so make sure you've made it by 2.30pm, so you can join the walk at 3.30pm.
There'll also be family craft activities with the RSPB or you could join one of our rangers for a winter wildlife walk. Wildlife walks will be at 11am and 1pm - meet at the Visitor Centre.
